The Mine Made Adventure Park is made up of hundreds of miles of trails on 43,000 acres of reclaimed coal land located just outside the towns of Leburn and Hindman in the Appalachian mountains of East Kentucky.
ATV and Dirtbike Trails:
100 miles of well marked looped trails for ATV’s, Side-by-Sides and dirt bikes with more trails planned. Click here for events.

Horseback Riding Trails:
Five looped trails for horseback riding also very well marked.
Stable and Riding Ring on site. Stall space available to rent. Click here for more details and a map of the horse trails.
Elk Viewing Opportunities:
Mine Made Adventure Park is the ideal place to view elk. Jenny Wiley State Park offers guided elk tours to this site. Hundreds of elk roam free in this area.
Best time of year to view them is Spring and Fall. During the hot summer months, best to look for them in the early dawn and at dusk. Click here for more on elk in Knott County.

Primitive camping is now available at trailhead. $15 per trailer/camper/tent for up to 4 people. Includes hot shower. Note: One lodging unit per site

Kawasaki brought in two huge rigs all the way from California to give top off-road publicists a chance to check out some of the new models and to provide an opportunity to preview some of the off-road motorized trails being developed in Knott County. This was a week long media blitz for writers and riders. Media sources are flying in all week from Ohio, Georgia, Oregon, Maryland, Nevada, Michigan, New York, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, North Carolina and California just to check out our trails! Corporate sponsors have included Toyota, can-am, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Kenda Tire. Yamaha and can-am provided demo rides all weekend long which allowed people an opportunity to try out different bikes. Toyota had four trucks on display. Destination Polaris arrived on Saturday and filmed a segment for their television show. Local sponsors on-site included Pikeville RV, YPK Motorsports from Jackson KY and Andy’s Cycle out of Hazard.
In October of 2010, ATV Magazine held the 2011 ATV Trials at the Mine Made Park. Tom Kaiser of ATV Magazine said, "It's a fantastic riding area that will open to the public in the Spring of 2011, and we loved the mountainous trails which were a great venue for testing the latest crop of quads from the 2011 model year."Click herefor article and photos by Wayne Davis.
SPECIAL EVENTS AT MINE MADE ADVENTURE PARK
Knott County’s Mine Made Adventure Park is home to the Spring Ground Poundin' ATV event and the Fall Brawl each year. The 2010 Spring Ground Poundin' brought in riders from West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, North Dakota, Minnesota, Kansas, California as well as all over Kentucky.

ATV /Motorcycle Training Center(see photos below) is accredited by Motorcycle Safety Foundation. It is sitting on 10 acres dedicated to teaching rider safety. On-site riders can practice the safety skills they can and will use out on the trails. There is a large paved area used for street bike certification training and the Center itself houses classrooms and park headquarters. The facility is the only dedicated ATV & motorcycle training center in the Appalachian region and the only training facility that includes closed course training ranges, a skills practice course as well as beginning, intermediate, and challenge trails accessible from the Center. Horseback Trail Riding - Over 100 miles of dedicated trails in Mine Made Paradise Park. Knott County Fiscal Court hosts two annual events:
Spring Ride, scheduled for the first weekend in May 4-6, 2012.
Fall Ride, scheduled for the first weekend in October 5-7, 2012.
The Fall 2010 ride had over 10,000 people and 5,000 horses from all over the United States attend the three day event. Some people arrived early and made it an all week trip. Elk Viewing Possibilities:
With over 11,000 elk, Southeast Kentucky has more elk than any state east of the Rockies and Knott County has been declared the "Elk Capital of the East".
One of the best places to view elk is up on Elk View Drive near the ATV Training Center off of Hwy 1098. The best time to view elk is at sunrise and at dusk especially in early Fall, Winter and Spring.
