The Kentucky School of Craft is a professional craft school housed in a 25,000 sq. ft. historic rock building in downtown Hindman. As part of the Hazard Community and Technical College System, the Kentucky School of Craft produces skilled artisans, knowledgeable in the region's rich traditions and heritage. The building itself was once the Hindman School, home of the 1946 State Basketball Champions.
The Kentucky School of Craft and Appalachian Artisan Center work closely together to bring an economically vibrant arts community to eastern Kentucky.
David Wright is nationally known for his excellent craftsmanship in woodworking and furniture. Before joining the faculty at the Kentucky School of Craft, Wright had his own furniture building business for 20+ years.
