Come see and hear the elk who roam free throughout Knott County "The Elk Capital of the East". Travel by horseback, ATV, dirtbike on hundreds of miles of trails or just go for a hike. And all the twisting, turning roads are great for motorcyclists!

2009 Elk Expo - highlights

Carr Creek State Park & Carr Creek Lake features a full range of recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, camping and picnicking.

For a bit of culture, visit the Appalachian Artisan Center & Cafe, Artisan Studio Shops where visitors can see artists at work.

Kentucky School of Craft, Hindman Settlement School and the Marie Stewart Museum & Craft Shop - all located in downtown Hindman.

The Knott County Sportsplex features basketball courts, baseball fields, bowling alley, video arcade, indoor walking track and so much more!
